Crowther Associates Architects, working in association with Cheesmur Building Contractors, have recently completed a new extension to Windlesham School in, Brighton.
Additional accommodation is provided, to this well-established school and nursery, comprising; three classrooms, a multi-use sports and dining hall, kitchen, and support spaces.
The project incorporates pitched roofs and masonry construction to blend with the existing school buildings, and the use of vertical cedar cladding, chosen in collaboration with the school to soften the external appearance. Passive ventilation, via roof windcatchers, are part of the innovative environmental designs incorporated into the new areas.
