The Royal Oak, Ditchling Common.

Continuing their ongoing relationship with the Nova Developments, Crowther Associates Architects have now obtained planning permission for a new residential development on the site of the derelict Royal Oak Public House located to the north of Ditchling Common on the outskirts of Wivelsfield Green.

The new proposal is for a development of seven new 3 & 4 bedroom properties on the site of the public house site and its associated car park situated opposite side of the B2112. The site layout has been developed to provide all of the houses with a south facing aspect to all primary rooms so as to enhance natural light & solar gain along with the orientation of the roofs to maximise the efficiency of roof mounted renewable energy installations. The site sits within an existing mature rural landscape and the proposals will add to and enhance this natural  environment.

The removal of the Public house, which sits tight to a sharp bend in the road, will also provide vast enhancements to the highway safety with enlarged visibility splays and new speed restrictions.
