Situated on a sloping disused Garage & Workshop site, extensive landscaping enabled eight 3 bed room units fronting Denton Road, arranged in a gentle curve as semidetached properties, to be constructed on a challenging site. The modified cross section of the site allowed for a parking space, main entrance and utility space to be created on the ground floor with kitchen and living room accommodation on the first floor linking to the rear garden. The three bedrooms and family bathroom were located on the upper floor giving wide panoramic views to the west.
A further two 3 bed units, to the rear of the development, use the same architectural language and being located on top of the hill, these units are entered on the upper ground floor bedroom level which has leads down to the lower ground floor kitchen, main living space and rear garden. The master bedroom is formed in the roofspace so that the scale of surrounding properties is respected.
The client wanted a subtle but contemporary development which would be unique to the surrounding dwellings. By using modern forms and careful consideration of materials, the scheme fulfils the clients goal.
